Why we’re Building Capacity on e-Government – Minister

Barrister Adebayo Shittu, Minister of Communications, says his ministry has commenced building the capacity of civil servants to enable them become e-Government compliant.
 
The Minister disclosed this at the opening ceremony of the 3rd In- Country Training Project for Capacity Building of e-government in Nigeria held at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria.

He noted that the project was designed as 5 e-government courses to increase the Knowledge, capacity and skill of various cadres of officers in the Public Sector in line with federal government’s plan to become fully electronic compliant.

Shittu enjoined participants to avail themselves of the opportunity offered by the training, which according to him represents a new vista in the drive to evolve a workable synergy to institutionalize e-government for the socio-economic benefit of Nigeria, saying that he is already “e-government compliant”.

The training was organized by the Federal Ministry of Communications in partnership with Korea International Co-operation Agency (KOICA) to develop Capacity Building Programme for e-government in Nigeria. According to the Minister, over 250 officers were trained during the first and second In-Country Training Programme.
