Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KSIRS) has sealed off the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Keystone Bank in Kaduna metropolitan’s over unpaid tax liabilities and PAYE.
The agency sealed two branches of the FCMB at the Kachia road, Ali Akilu and Yakubu Gowon located in the heart of city. The bank was said to be indebted to the agency to the tune of N72m in tax liabilities.
The Keystone bank was said to owe the agency over N222.8m over non remittance of PAYE as well as withholding tax.
The branches sealed are those of Bank road, Ahmadu Bello Way and Kachia Road.
Dr Zaid Abubakar, KDIRS executive director, shortly after the exercise told journalists that the banks were sealed for failure to remit Pay-As-You-Earn and withholding taxes.
