Konga.com, Nigeria’s online marketplace, has been awarded the “Socially devoted” standard; a certificate in customer service excellence by Social bakers, the most popular provider of social media analytic tools, statistics and metrics for Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, YouTube and LinkedIn.

The award comes as Konga celebrates reaching the 1 Million happy fans milestone on Facebook, making Konga.com the most liked e-commerce platform in Africa.

This award, which recognises responsive and engaging brands on Twitter, was achieved between January and April this year.

In the last three months, Konga has introduced a lot of new customer facing initiatives that have helped increase engagement and response on social media.

Some of these initiatives include enabling everyone in the company, from the Chief Executive Officer to the Heads of Departments, to respond to customer queries on social media platforms.

Speaking about the award, Mayowa Adebayo, vice president of Customer Service, Konga.com said, “We are happy to be recognized with this international award for Social Customer Service. At Konga, we believe that satisfied customers are the core of our success and it is everyone's job to make the customers happy.”

Earlier this year, a twelve-man team of top Facebook executives led by Nichola Mendelsohn; head of Facebook, Europe, Middle East and Africa visited the Konga.com offices in Nigeria.

They highlighted the role and importance of Konga as a success story with a reputation that has gone beyond local shores and quickly gaining traction around Africa despite having only being in existence for less than 2 years.
