Kits Moves to Entrench Best Practices of Data Centre

KITS is set to empower a group of selected Data Centre Managers that cut across all sectors of the economy including banks, oil and gas, ISPs and conglomerate come July 12, in line with the recent declaration by the CBN that all banks should meet Tier 3 standards (global standard based on availability specifications for data centres) before the year "2017.

It is hoped that this will guide their path in terms of choices, informed decision, design consideration to maximize the enormous investment they would be making.

This free workshop is coming as part of KITS continuous drive of entrenching best practice of Data Centre Design and Management.

With this giant stride, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Usman,  programme coordinator, said that within a couple of years to come now, KITS would redefine the Data Centre industry with trained manpower who understand what it takes to build Data Centre from scratch and maintain it efficiently, year in year out, eliminating preventable downtime or failure.

She further went on to say that since commencement of the 1st industry non-vendor based Data centre certification training in Nigeria by KITS Technologies Limited, the industry has witnessed a sharp increase in both awareness and best practice of data centre build and management.

She said this continuous effort of KITS is aimed not only improving existing data centre manpower but to serve as a veritable platform for Data Centre Owners to improve the knowledge of their technicians, Engineers and Facility managers

The training since started in Nigeria in 2012 have grown and improved in content, scope, practical relevance of today's Data Centre build and management requirement and would serve a veritable guide for would-be ICT starter, Consultant, M&E Engineers, Architect on how to build and manage a modern-day Data Centre.

The training has been hugely productive in Nigeria, having exposed previous attendees and delegates from the various industry players to the proper understanding of necessary considerations, and the urgent need to commence immediate professional evaluation of their existing data centres, as they've realized the wide gaps inherent in them, as most no longer meets the realities of today's Data Centre standards and needs. The next Certification training comes up between July 8th and 12th, 2014 in Lagos.
