Asoko Insight, and Africa-Dutch business community, the Netherlands-African Business Council (NABC), are stepping up plans to host a cross-sector trade mission for Dutch firms seeking investment and trade opportunities in Nigeria through direct networking with local firms.
With preparations and enrolment gaining momentum, the trade mission has now garnered the interest of British corporates.
Declaring its interest in October, it has been decided that Asoko and the NABC will be joined by the UK-Africa business network, the Business Council for Africa.
The addition of the BCA as a collaborative partner on the trade mission will see the Dutch delegation joined by a delegation of leading UK companies scouting trade partnership and investment opportunities on the ground.
With reference to its participation in the trade mission, Karen Taylor, BCA’s CEO said “Here at the BCA we are very excited to take our relationship with the NABC and Asoko one step further by collaborating on this mission. Nigeria is a vital market for our members, and has been key focus for the BCA throughout our 60 years of history. We are delighted to be working with our Dutch partners on this project.”
With regards to preparation in Nigeria, Obi Ejimofo, Asoko’s COO, said “We have already been approached by dozens of vibrant Nigerian firms to participate in this initiative and the inclusion of British firms through the BCA adds even more value and opportunity for local participants. We are looking forward to a vibrant 3 days of networking, matchmaking and deals at this pivotal time in the economy”
The Multisectoral Trade Mission Nigeria will be held from 20-24 February 2017 and will focus on market opportunities in 5 key sectors – Renewable Energy, Construction, Agro-Processing, Food and Beverages and FMCG.
Applications are now open for Nigerian, British and Dutch companies to register their interest in participating in the event. Registration and further information here.
