A  Bristow Helicopter has crashed into sea in Lagos, according to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

Mr.  Ibrahim Farinloye, South-west spokesperson for NEMA, said, "An Helicopter has crashed into the sea. Emergency rescuers at work. For now there is no casualty. The Operation is ongoing. Further update soon."

Also Capt. Obinna Ojiako, Area Operations and Service Delivery Manager at Bristow Helicopters disclosed that the aircraft has been located.

Life raft and rescue boats operatives have equally swung into action as they have headed towards the spot of the crash.

The helicopter which left Lagos Wednesday morning was going for an offshore operation to drop engineers at the rig when it developed a fault.

It reportedly has 11 persons on board.
